Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of House & Garage (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
The Service
House & Garage helps you track maintenance for vehicles and home systems, including AI-assisted schedule lookup, photo and manual analysis, and reminder emails. Some features require an active paid subscription.
Your Account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service (in most places, this means being at least 18, or the age of majority where you live). One account per person; don't share credentials or let someone else use your account.
Subscriptions & Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and start with a 14-day free trial, during which AI features run on a smaller usage allowance. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. You can cancel anytime from the Billing Portal (Settings > Manage Billing); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law or at our discretion.
AI Features
Auto-Fill Schedule, Photo Lookup, Owner's Manual extraction, and Ask AI Buddy use a third-party AI model to generate suggested maintenance intervals, part numbers, torque specs, and similar information. This output can be wrong or incomplete. Always verify anything safety-related - especially torque specs, fluid types, and part fitment - against your vehicle or appliance's official manual before acting on it. The Service is a record-keeping and research aid, not a substitute for manufacturer documentation or a qualified technician.
Acceptable Use
Don't use the Service to break the law, upload malicious files, attempt to access other users' data, interfere with the Service's operation, or abuse the AI features (e.g. scripted/automated mass usage outside normal personal use).
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your data and cancels any active subscription. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, House & Garage isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content or maintenance reminders. Nothing here limits liability where it can't legally be limited.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
